My life’s a zoo everyday 😂

Day 18

States: still California

Sites seen: San Diego Zoo, Pacific Ocean, Belmont Park, La Jolla Beach, Slater’s 50/50

Today was a fun day (I feel like they all are!). We spent half of our day at the San Diego zoo. We took a bus tour when we first got there which showed us about 70% of the zoo and gave us an idea of where we wanted to go next. We also took a ride on the skyline and the people mover (to get up to the bridge).

There were lots of babies at the zoo today.

Baby giraffe

Baby koala (on its mama’s back)

Baby hippo

Baby panda

Even the not baby animals are cute and fun to see.

This zoo is 125 acres hidden in the midst of San Diego and I’m glad we got to see it.

After the zoo, we headed to the beach. We wanted to go to a beach called Belmont Park. It has a cute little roller coaster there.

But parking there was insane so we headed up to La Jolla instead. The beach and the air were about the same temperature and it was lovely. Plus there were lots of waves for the kiddos to play in so they were happy, too.

So in a matter of weeks my family has put their toes in the Atlantic and the Pacific Ocean. Kind of crazy to think about!

For dinner we headed to a place called Slater’s 50/50.

This place is great! And as an added bonus, we found a Hawaii license plate!

We have almost all the states at this point but figured we would never see a Hawaii plate. Yay!

Also, dinner was horrible…

San Diego gets two thumbs up from me. I could totally live here! 👍👍

Tomorrow, instead of Yosemite, we will be heading to Utah. We’re looking forward to seeing Zion and Bryce National Parks.

Talk to you soon-
