The Grand Teton

Day 25

States seen: Montana and Wyoming

Sites seen: Yellowstone and The Grand Teton National Park

Between fighting a migraine and being so cold I couldn’t sleep, we got a much later start this morning than we had planned. We decided that even though it would be a lot of driving, it would be worth driving to Grand Teton National Park to see the mountains. They did not disappoint!

The first two pictures (above) are the only photos from Yellowstone today. We stopped at Lewis Falls for the photo op.

The rest of the photos are from our scenic drive through Grand Teton National Park. The mountains are giant and certainly beautiful.

We did see another bear on our drive today! And again with cubs. We couldn’t really take good photos because it wasn’t safe to stop today. Our scenic drive took us to the top of Signal Mountain, whose elevation is around 7700ish. To put that in perspective, the three Tetons are around 14,000ish. They’re giant. We were a little bummed that it was a rainy, hazy day, which was messing with our view a little bit. But one of the ladies in the visitor center said that it’s actually smoke from the wildfires that is settling over everything.

Again, pictures don’t really do any of it justice. It’s all very, very beautiful and a wonder to behold.

Now we’re back at the campsite and have finished up dinner. We’ll just be hanging out for the rest of the evening. Tomorrow, we make a loooooong drive over to Mt.Rushmore. Wish us luck!

Talk to you soon-
