Feet

Day 4

States covered: the rest of Virginia and then Tennessee

Sites seen: Walmart

Feet. Everything smells like feet. The car smells like feet. The towels smell like feet. The smell of feet is escaping from our dirty clothes bag. We are working on a cure for this. We are showering regularly (it’s only day 4…we’ll see how that goes) and we do hang our towels and bathing suits out to dry every evening. But our towels never dry and then they have to get packed up.

Some interesting observations from all of us:

It was amusing when we first arrived to a gas station that sold alcohol.

The girls are fascinated by the number of people riding in the back of pick up trucks.

The adult entertainment signs are giant. And these are usually followed by even larger signs inquiring if you’ve met Jesus.

We went to Walmart after we set up camp. (By the way- we are becoming quite the experts at setting up and tearing down camp!) we needed to refill our peanut butter supply and get the girls pillows. We left with way more than that, of course! Miss A kept walking around going “Wow! Everything is so cheap!” On repeat. It was pretty funny.

We had dinner back at the campsite tonight then the girls went for a swim and we got some laundry done. Afterwards, the girls ran the family mile with us and Josh and I thought it would be good to do a couple more miles because of the long car ride. This was a mistake. Holy hills batman! We basically started walking up the mountains and ran back down and on the straightaways.

Now everyone is clean and totally exhausted so bed will be happening soon. We’re off to explore Chattanooga and the surrounding area tomorrow.

Talk to you soon!
